Exploring Costa Rica
How to Plan the Perfect Trip to Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a bio-diverse gem book ended by the Pacific and Carribean oceans. Las Palmitas is located in the Northwest province of Guanacaste on the Pacific side with access to countless beaches. It’s a perfect retreat from the stresses of city life. Adventurous travelers can explore Volcanoes - Arenal and Rincon de la Veija or hike among the Clouds in Monteverde.
Top 5 Things to Know Before You Go
Liberia International Airport (LIR): conveniently located between the beach towns of Tamarindo and the Volcanos and Cloud Forests of La Fortuna.
National Parks: There are 28 protected areas where travelers can experience unspoiled Mother Nature
Beaches: Over 300 beaches on the Pacific side offer secluded getaways, surf and more.
La Fortuna: is the hub for adventure travelers craving zip lines, hiking, and ATV tours to find sloths, tree frogs and toucans.

Travel Items to bring to Costa Rica
Many of the electronics we rely on in the United States will cost you double or triple while traveling abroad. Make sure you stock up on these travel items so you don’t get stuck paying Gringo prices.
1. Portable Charger - You never leave home without your phone and there won’t be anyplace to recharge at a secluded beach.
Ask me how I know.
Now I carry the Nitecore power bank with me while in Costa Rica. It’s lightweight and super slim so it takes up no room in my pocket or gear bag. Remember: ALL BATTERIES MUST GO IN CARRY-ON LUGGAGE.
2. Car chargers - We all rely on our phones for navigating in cars. Whether you use Google Maps or WAZE you’ll want your phone plugged in and charging while using these power hungry apps.
I wish these car adapters were more durable, but eventually mine all seem to stop working. It doesn’t matter whether I paid top dollar at Apple, Best Buy, or picked up an emergency spare at a gas station.
So now I pack 2 when I travel.

3. Apple Air Tags - If you are not on a NON-STOP flight or plan multiple luggage transfers to buses, shuttles and tour vans then you need a way to track your luggage when it gets lost or left behind.
This was a lifesaver on my last trip abroad when 3 of our 5 suitcases ended up on a later flight when our plane was delayed. Without these air tags my bag of souvenirs would still be in Tennessee and not Jackson Hole.
This 4-Pack of Airtags on Amazon were a lifesaver!
